Hello, ONTDers! I see you've come to answer my question. It's easy, but I'd love it if you expanded on your answer. Share a story, too, if you want.

What scene(s)/Part(s) in Up made you/your movie watching companion cry?

Go nuts, BBs.

The part where Carl was looking at the adventure book and saw all the pictures Ellie had added in. I'd been holding it in up until that point, but I just lost it and started crying.

The opening sequence was absolutely beautiful! I definitely got teary eyed during that part, although I didn't actually cry until later on in the film.

I started full-on crying when Charles threw the net on Kevin who was crying for her babies..and then threw his lamp on Carl's house so that he would have to choose. When it showed the picture of Ellie falling off of the wall..I lost it.

Then whenever Carl was looking at the book and found the pages that Ellie had added in without him knowing..I cried some more.

I also got a little teary when he dumped all of the furniture out of the house to save Russell - and it showed how carefully he had set up the chairs.

A lot of things at the very end made me cry too. Carl losing his house but being thrilled at saving his three new friends, Russell's dad not showing up to pin his badge on him, Carl filling in for him and then playing Russell's favorite game, and of course the final shot of Carl's house landing right back next to Paradise Falls.

..I know it sounds like I cried the entire, but I promise I didn't! There were times when I was laughing hysterically and literally sitting on the edge of my seat. This was truly an amazing movie!

Lol, I started tearing up before the movie started. When the stork left the cloud during the short film, I was like, "Aw!"

But the montage with Carl and Ellie in the beginning was sad. And when Dug appeared and said, "I was hiding under the porch because I love you." Ugh. It was even sadder because Carl had yelled at him and called him a bad dog. Sigh. Russell did a great job of cheering me up, though, he was too cute.

During the montage, when they were in the doctors office is when the tears started, I don't know why but it hit hard. Then I was pretty much crying the the rest of the montage and balling by the time he was with her in the hospital. I was an emotional wreck the rest of the movie and every time they showed the old man not being able to let go of Ellie I started to cry again.

Y'know, I just realized that it wasn't until the end of the movie that he was able to "let go" of her. I think I would've cried if it had hit me when I saw it.

The whole beginning where Ellie dies had me tearing up. My mom died a few months ago, so anything about death has been hitting me extra hard, but Carl also reminded me of my dad who was an older guy, so that made me really sad :(

The part where Carl yells at Dug had my room mate crying, and when Dug was on the porch and said that he was hiding under the porch because he loved him had us both tearing up!

And! The part where the villain set the house on fire! Wtf was that about?

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. That's got to be the hardest thing, and I'm dreading that time.

Muntz setting the house on fire was infuriating. Yeah, they needed him to deserve death, but really!

THE SHORT made me cry.
Thats one of my FAV shorts.

And I didnt cry during up, almost a couple times, but the VERY END when they showed his house, I was like like, 'awhhhhhhhh'.

lol @ the villian setting the house on fire, well not really lol, but yeah I was like WTFFFF are you doing,

also I cracked up at that bird, I found both the bird and dog hilarious, before I saw the movie I knew I was going to like the bird though. When the bird was first introduced he (she) kept doing some wierd positions with her body, which was soo funny.

And then I would randomly laugh everytime they called it 'Kevin'

what a freakin wierdooo name for a bird lmao. But Hilarious. So glad I went.

They were being very loud and insensitive. I totally regret taking my 3 year old nephew to it.
